Identification:The head and body of the fairy penguin are a striking indigo blue color. Its chin, throat, undersides, and tail are white. This type of penguin has no crest.

Reproduction:These semi-colonial nesters have a variable laying period between June and October. Each pair has two eggs and incubate them for 33-39 days. The chicks fledge when they are 50-65 days old.
