Animal Characteristics

Head-Body Length:11 cm
Identification:The upper parts and sides of face of the Cape white-eye are olive green. It has a black lores, a white eye ring, and a yellow chin, throat and underside. Its chest and belly may be gray, yellow, or white.
Habitat:Woodlands
Diet:Omnivore: insects, fruit, nectar
Reproduction:Females lay 2-6 eggs in the spring and summer. Both parents incubate and care for the young.
Cape white-eyes are found in pairs during the breeding season and in small loose flocks at other times of the year.
