Animal Characteristics

Head-Body Length:22 cm
Identification:The top of the head, sides of the face, back, and tail of the Southern boubou are black. Its rump is buff, and its wings are black with a white band. The boubou's chin and breast are white. The lower belly and flanks are cinnamon-buff in color.
Habitat:Bushlands near water, areas with dense cover, mountain slopes
Diet:Omnivore: berries, insects
Reproduction:Boubou shrikes breed in late October.
These birds are usually found in pairs.
